The Igenix 9000 BTU smart 3-in-1 portable air conditioner (IGAC02009W) is the smart-control version of Igenix's popular portable air conditioner, cooling, ventilating and dehumidifying rooms of up to 20 square metres from a single compact unit. Three modes in one machine, cooling, fan and dehumidifier, make it a year-round workhorse: cool a hot bedroom overnight, keep air moving on a warm but bearable day, or draw damp out of a humid room. Its 9000 BTU output suits small to average spaces such as bedrooms, home offices, conservatories, garages, mobile homes and caravans, and the portable design lets you wheel it between rooms as needed. As an honest single-hose portable air conditioner, it vents warm exhaust air outside through the included window/exhaust kit and hose; like all true portable units, it cannot cool a room without being vented, there is no such thing as a hoseless portable AC. At 26 kg it is a substantial unit but remains movable on the level. Running costs scale with the cooling load, but a portable of this capacity will typically draw around a kilowatt per hour, in the region of 26p at roughly 26p/kWh.
